The vertical type scraper centrifuges are among the oldest centrifuges used in industry.  Processes such as filling, preliminary dewatering, washing (repeatedly, if necessary), centrifugal dewatering/drying, and removal of the collected solids, takes place in succession.  It is possible to adapt the operating parameters of these centrifuges to individual process requirements.  There is a high degree of flexibility that these centrifuges offer, in processing suspensions of varying properties.

These machines are divided into three groups, depending upon the nature of the yield of the solids:

1.  Top Empyting, Manual Cake Removal - cGMP Design

Typical applications:  Fine Chemicals, Kilo Labs, Chemical & Pharmaceutical Pilot Plants, Food Supplements

The lightweight base plate is welded into one piece, with the centrifuge casing, giving multiple advantages: -  easy to clean and access -  reduced weight -  solid 316L SS construction
		Unrestricted access to the basket:  The casing and the cover are designed to grant easy access to the basket and operating elements mounted on the lid.  This allows a fast and easy evacuation of the dry product as well as excellent ability to inspect after a clean-in-place (CIP) cycle.

To enhance cleaning and inspection, additional CIP nozzles can be used, and inspection sight glasses can be installed.  Also, fully enclosed designs in stainless steel are available. 

100% Oil Free Operation is available with pneumatic controls, air driven scraper knife, and pneumatic lid actuators, and variable frequency drives.

Horizontal Basket Scraper Centrifuges:

These centrifuges are distinct from the vertical centrifuges by virtue of the clear separation of the processing area from the mechanical area of the machine.  The horizontal design of the drum and the housing permits considerably better visual inspection of those parts that are touched by the product than is possible in the case of vertical machines.

The ability to inspect the processing area is highly important for finished product applications, and for cases where the machine is used to process multiple products that require fast turnaound from one campaign to the next without cross-contamination of products.
