PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS

A. The requirements of the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and the following Specification sections apply to all Work herein:

1.02 SUMMARY

A. The Stellar Energy Systems (SES) will furnish a complete self-contained, 4,000 ton, factory-assembled Packaged Chilled Water Plant complete with (4) 1000 ton chillers, a four-cell cooling tower, pumps, piping and controls. The Plant is to be installed by owner's Engineer/Contractor. The required area for the Plant is 64' wide x 52' deep.The Cooling Tower elevation will be 22 feet from the finished floor over the top of the chilled water plant.

B. The Packaged Chilled Water Plant is factory-fabricated, and pressure tested by The Stellar Energy Systems as a complete unit containing all of the items listed below.Delivery to the jobsite, and field installation of the Packaged Chilled Water Plant is optional.

C. SES will provide supply and return chilled water connections, building water connection for make-up water, 480-volt electrical power connection, and the necessary terminal contacts to various field mounted devices and building automation system interfaces. The plant will provide each of these service interfaces along the outside face of the Plant Enclosure. It will be Owner's responsibility to connect to these interfaces.

D. The ModUtility Chilled Water Plant will use Allen Bradley PLC-based integrated control system that optimizes Chilled Water plant performance while minimizing power (kW) input. SES will assume control and unit responsibility to include the following:

Sequence chillers and cooling towers.

1. Sequence pumps.
2. Control cooling tower fan speed via Variable Frequency Drives.
3. Control primary chilled water and condenser water flow.

PART 2 - REFERENCE STANDARDS

A. All centrifugal water chilling units and accessories shall be designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the latest applicable industry standards including the following:

A. The following products are to be included as part of the Standard Packaged Chilled Water Plant:

B. The Standard Packaged Chilled Water Plant will be designed for the refrigeration capacity, chilled water flow rate, and total dynamic head as noted.

PART 4 - SUBMITTALS AND OPERATION MANUALS

SES will provide the following submittals:

A. Detailed dimensions and general arrangement drawings.
B. Electrical power and control wiring diagram indicating all terminations and connections by others.
C. Equipment submittals for all major components including: chillers, cooling towers, pumps, variable frequency drives, and electrical switchgear.
D. Piping schematic of the Packaged Chilled Water Plant's components showing equipment and valve tags, pipe sizes, connections types, gauges, piping specialties and instrumentation tags.
E. Enclosure layout and access panel locations.
F. Control submittal including: Hardware, software, and control layout drawing with sequence of operation.
G. A electrical load list showing total power consumption and efficiency for the entire Packaged Chilled Water Plant at full load.
H. PE Stamped Structural drawings (as required)

SES Operation and Maintenance Manuals will include the following:

A. Installation and Maintenance Manuals for OEM products integral to the Packaged Chilled Water Plant.
B. Bill of Material as supplied.
C. Warranties for all OEM Products.
D. All Submittals will be assembled in booklet form with specification sections cross-referenced.
